BBC MUZZY ENGLISH is a clasical and funny English course, suitable for children, with two levels:  "BBC MUZZY ENGLISH" es un curso de Inglés clásico y divertido, apropiado para chichos, con dos niveles:
* LEVEL 1 ("Muzzy in Gondoland") is composed by 6 or 8 chapters (it depends on the different editions) and it is suitable for beginners: First and Second Cycles of Primary.
El NIVEL 1 ("Muzzy in Gondoland") está compuesto por 6 u 8 capítulos (dependiendo de las diferentes ediciones) y es apropiado para principiantes: 1º y 2º ciclos de Primaria.
* LEVEL 2 ("Muzzy comes back") is composed by 20 episodes and can be followed by some intermediate levels of Primary: Second and Third cycles.  El nivel 2 ("MUZZY COMES BACK") está compuesto por 20 episodios y pueden seguirlo algunos niveles intermedios de Primaria: 2º  y 3º ciclos.

El enlace de la BBC que figuraba en esta entrada para descargar gratuitamente la transcipción de "Muzzy comes back" ya no está operativo. En su lugar han publicado esta página cuyo enlace pongo a continuación, donde aparece una nueva versión de MUZZY actualizada a la estética digital actual pero... de pago. Así pues quienes estén interesados pueden comprar el curso (que la verdad, me parece un poco caro) o quizá haya padres o madres de cuyos hijos lo hayan descargado gratis en años anteriores y que puedan pasaroslo... Igualmente, no sé el tiempo que estarán disponibles gratuitamente los vídeos antiguos, así que quien quiera disponer de ellos lo mejor será que los descargue directamente de youtube.

LESSON ABOUT LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Subject: Basic English

English Level: Primary Teaching, Second Cycle (End of 3rd level or beginning of 4th level)

Context: Pupils at compulsory school aged 7-8 years old, having begun to learn English at the age of 6 with 2 hours week learning classes in all levels. The ambiance is the one of an small village with no other English input opportunities than the only school program.
Goals of the unit:
1. Language:
At the end of the unit students will have practiced...
- vocabulary related to infant stories, specially to “Little Red Riding Hood”:Family, senses, wild animals and jobs.
- using computers and internet for learning.
- developing autonomy in learning.

2. ContentCommunicative skills:
- listening comprehension from different versions of a story from basic to advanced ones, and with different supports: teacher speech and authentic videos and recordings related to the content.
- expressive reading from basic texts with sentences of classic stories.
- writing the vocabulary related to the subject on illustrated worksheets or posters.
- expressive speaking: role play about the story.

3. Study Skills
Students will have the opportunity to...
- use different Web tools for learning (web pages, blogs, online platforms, voice tools)
- work in groups rehearsing and acting a role play.
- develop expressive oral skill and spontaneity in reading and acting.
- practice the structures appeared in the story
- develop autonomy in learning.


4. Timing:Two or three weeks (4-6 hours class):
2-3 hours reading, seeing videos, and working on vocabulary.
1-2 hour rehearsing in groups.
1 hour acting the role plays.

5. Evaluation:
- Oral reading registers.
- Work in role plays.
- Writting worksheets.
- Interactive test.

2.- Read the story of “Little Red Riding Hood” and choose a version to print and study at home. Then work in groups to prepare a play with it (each group needs a narrator, a mother, Riding Hood, the wolf, a grandmother and the woodcutter). At the end of the unit you must act and play the story for the class (perhaps we’ll film on video the plays: Do your best!)
